Rebel FM -- Episode 46

This week you can listen in as Anthony progressively loses his voice! This episode features talk about Darksiders, Ghostbusters, Dragon Age, Bayonetta (a little bit), and a few other games. We then move on to gaming resolutions for 2010, including several from the community. And finally, we close out with letters (surprisingly relationship free). It's a shorter show because Anthony's quite sick, but we wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to those of you who have stuck with us through thick and thin through the year, and hello to those of you who are new (we like new people, too). Enjoy!

Ah, yeah, I figured that was you, Ultan. Also, I assume the second letter was indeed Bitmob Jason, considering the website he listed in his comment is bitmob.com

I'll spew out my gaming resolution here: play more games on impulse. Far too often, I hold off on games when they initially catch my attention. This is a knee-jerk reaction to how I used to play games: jumping from title to title without bothering to finish them. This past year though, I feel like I've held back too often. StarCraft has been in my Now Playing list for over three months, Call of Duty 4 for at least six. Embarrassingly, this excessive wariness extends beyond just finishing the game now. I have begun to feel the need to write a review for each game I play through. This might seem conceited or strange, but I simply love taking an analytical eye to video games, and I spend as much time as I can with each title before writing about it. This leads me to sitting on one game for several months, ideas cooking, but nothing else being played. This has to stop, and I've already taken measures in doing so. On a total whim, I bought Braid during the Steam sale and played through in one night (I already had the XBLA version so this wasn't so tough). Only days later, I powered through the MW2 campaign in a single play session. I want to write about my experiences with these games eventually, but for now I'm happy to just play and enjoy them. Putting my writing ideas on the back burner is a lot more fun than shelving the games themselves.
