Retro Trailer: Half-Life

It's hard to believe that Half-Life was ever an unreleased and anticipated game. Still, I'm surprised how different this trailer -- packaged with You Don't Know Jack Vol. 3 in 1997 -- looks from the final game, which Valve released in 1998. That must have been one busy year for Valve.

I like how the guns just sort of float in midair, with no hands holding them. Valve was also smart enough to start with an explosion.

Now if only we could get a trailer for Half Life 2 Ep. 3.

Yeah, it really does look like a Quake Total Conversion(which it still is, but less easy to distinguish from it now).

And I didn't know they had security officers as enemies before release!
