Final Fantasy 13The Community Spotlight features some of the best unedited articles that didn't quite make the front page. This week, we've got a regular guy stuck in Final Fantasy 13, a painful divorce with a handheld, and an examination of Mass Effect's on-screen interface. Oh...and we might talk about the likelihood of a Final Fantasy 7 sequel, too. (Spoiler: Don't count on it.)

Stuck in Final Fantasy: The plight of Sazh Katzroy
By Matthew Anfuso
Final Fantasy characters are...a different breed. I mean, normal humans usually can't leap 50 feet into the air while swinging a massive sword-gun-thingy. FF13's Sazh, on the other hand, reacts to the game's nigh-inscrutable story as you'd expect a normal father to. Matthew's got the details.

My divorce from the DSi
By Jonathan Oyama
Irreconcilable differences. That's what caused Jonathan to end his relationship with his DSi. That and the siren song of a PSP capable of playing old-school role-playing games. Mazel tov, Jonathan.

Criterion Collection should take an interest in video games
By Stan Rezaee
The sad thing about video games is that, as time passes, it becomes harder to play old classics, despite efforts like Nintendo's Virtual Console. Stan says more should be done to preserve these bits of gaming history in a format like the Criterion Collection.

Digital fisticuffs: Mass Effect and the on-screen prompt
By Basil Allen
It gave me great pleasure in Mass Effect 2 to pull the Renegade trigger and watch my FemShep smack that jerk reporter in the face. The problem, Basil says, is that the player can't quite gauge exactly what will happen when that trigger is pulled. "Contrary to popular opinion, not all Paragon or Renegade choices are created equally," Basil writes.

Will we ever get a Final Fantasy 7 remake?
By Patrick Molloy
Ah, the age-old question. FF7 is a touchstone for legions of gamers (I'm listening to the soundtrack right now as I write this), so the idea of a remake has always been out there. Patrick gauges its chances here.
