Borderlands 2

It's the slow season for game releases...but that doesn't mean we can't get excited over what's to come.

That's why we asked the amazing Facebook and Twitter followers of our parent account, @GamesBeat, about their most anticipated game yet to drop in 2012. (Spoiler: Turns out, a lot of you like Borderlands 2.)

We also asked which video game soundtracks really float your boat. And we got a wide variety of responses -- tunes from NES classics, RPG epics, bombastic shooters, indie art titles, and more. Never let anyone say y'all ain't diverse.

Check out the responses below, and don't forget to follow @Gamesbeat on Twitter and Bitmob on Facebook for more articles, news, contest, and more!

Question 1: What game are you most looking forward to in the rest of 2012?

Via Twitter:

@jermaine611: Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Resident Evil 6, and the new Mario Wii U game.

@Navarin: Halo 4.

@Chronorayven: It's between BioShock Infinite and Assassin's Creed 3. Dragon's Dogma is also looking good every time I see it.

@IronGoldfish6: World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Also interested to see how the Civilization 5 expansion turns out. The more complex Civ gets, the better!

More of your responses after the jump.

@Kikastrophe: Borderlands 2. And I was excited for Mass Effect 3.

@budenolan: DIABLO 3!!

@UnbearableDutch: Max Payne 3 will continue the tradition of mid-year Rockstar releases that hog GOTY discussion.

@JeffGrubb: Trials Evolution! Wait...it came out when? ::runs toward nearest Xbox::

@EvanKillham: Just one? You're killin' me, Smalls. Going to have to go with Borderlands 2.

@rickcurnutte: What Evan said is the correct answer. What do we win? Oh, it's not that kind of thing? OK....

@Darkarm66: The Last Story.

@TheMadSpin: Just through June: Walking Dead, Diablo 3, Starhawk, Max Payne 3, Ghost Recon, Darksiders 2, LittleBigPlanet PSVita, Tony Hawk HD.

@chase_koeneke: Fire Emblem Awakening, though it's really just tiding me over until we get a 3DS Advance Wars.

@feitclub: Until New Darkstalkers is a real thing, my answer is BioShock Infinite. Gotta be better than 2, right?

@lisachan25: Dishonored, but in the most unlikely circumstance that GTA V is releasing this year, then GTA V all the way.

@herebejoshua: Actually, if it's really still coming out this year, I'm stoked for Tomb Raider. Anxious about the new look!

@RealDazeOfWar: My most anticipated are Darksiders II and BioShock Infinite.

@rusmclaughlin: BioShock Infinite and Assassin's Creed 3 previews sold me big-time. And hey, an original IP: Dishonored. Looks like neo-Thief.

@Jeremy_LaMont: Assassin's Creed III for sure. Every time I think I'm over the series, I dip my toe in and I'm hooked all over again.

@CooTweetBro: I'm looking forward Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Remember that game? Surprised I did. Fuck it: Borderlands 2.

@vitiosuslepos: Shamefully, Skylanders Giants

@DanShoeHsu: For me, it's a tie between BioShock Infinite and Borderlands 2. Never mind, I'll go with BioShock Infinite.

@AphelionXII: @DanShoeHsu I was about to say. Is that really a toss up? I am looking forward to Borderlands 2 though! #gameclub?

@NerdyxTimx: Borderlands 2 has my heart this year.

@EstelleBard: I am looking forward for Guild Wars 2 and Tomb Raider.

Via Facebook:

Alec Gluesing: Grand Theft Auto 5, assuming the leaked October release date is real.

Corey Motley: Hitman: Absolution.

Corey G. Cousins: Diablo 3.

James Knight: I'm with Alex -- GTA 5 if it's happening this year. If not? BioShock Infinite. Can't wait for it.

Wayne Anthony Allen: Borderlands 2.

Michael Pangelina: Assassin's Creed III.

Scott Deakin: I can't decide between Diablo III or Halo 4.

Chris Winters: Assuming Atlus can localize it for 2012, Persona 4: The Golden. I'm too poor to get excited for much else games this year, but I've gotta admit, I'm pumped for Dishonored, BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider. If I can find time and money, I'll definitely get one of these three later in the year.

Kevin Ciarkowski: Borderlands 2, Halo 4, and Steel Battalion.

Stojan Jovic: Resident Evil 6.

Brian Washington: Prey 2.

Alex Cronk-Young: The Last Guardian. Pretty please? Realistically though, BioShock Infinite and Diablo 3 should be super awesome. Excited for those.

Crap, forgot to get in on this.  There have been so many great soundtracks - especially so for this generation - but I can't see anything ever topping World of Goo for me.  No soundtrack has ever so perfectly matched the tone of the game as World of Goo's.  And it's probably the best Danny Elfman score that he never touched.

Little disappointing this is the first time my name has been on a Bitmob article for months. Will definitely start writing more soon.

Also, extremely disappointed no one mentioned Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as the best video game soundtrack of all time. Someone should really write an article on its brilliance. Oh wait, I already did a long time ago: http://bitmob.com/articles/concept-album-sonic-the-hedgehog-2
