With Super Mario Galaxy 2 coming this weekend, we ask you: Do you want more direct sequels to Mario games?

Via Facebook:

Matthew Swain: It would be nice to not have to wait seven years between "main" installments. As long as the ideas are fresh and the games are AAA, then why not?

Rambo Higley : This is the obvious cop-out answer but.... It really depends on the game. More Super Mario Galaxy? Yes, please! More Super Mario Sunshine? Eh...I'm good....

Michael Lacerna: As long as the quality remains consistent, I don't care how many Mario games they come out with -- I'll take them all.

Joe Bryant: I want some more Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars!!!!

Brian Lang: I think I stopped playing Mario games about 10 years ago.

Daniel Feit: I'd rather Mario try something new. Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island were labeled as sequels but made great departures from the previous game. Super Mario Galaxy 2 just looks like more of the same.

I am one of the few who went out and picked up Prince of Persia at midnight.

To those skeptical - know that this game is amazing. If you loved the original trilogy, you will love this game. I'm not willing to claim it's better than Sands of Time, but I'll be damned if it's not an incredible game... eight hours long or not.

This is such a great activity for people. And I think Jason's answer to Mario sequels brings back a problem I hadn't thought about forever, is Nintendo done with original IPs?

I know I'm late to the party here, but Gunstar Heroes, anyone? I just played it with my little brother the other day for the first time, and it blew both our minds away.
