Infinity BladeHere in Canada, nearly all stores are closed today for Boxing Day. Which is perfectly fine -- my compatriots will find reviews for four downloadable games in this week’s Reviews Spotlight that you can purchase from the comfort of your own home -- if these reviews convince you. The fifth game...well, according to the reviewer, it’s not something you’d want to check out anyway.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West: Pigsy’s Perfect 10
By Evan Campbell
Is it just me, or is it gauche to include a review score in the name of your product? Personally, I think it’s leading. That aside, Ninja Theory’s new content for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West fills in a lot of the mechanical and game design gaps the main game had. That alone may push this skeptical buyer over the edge.

Groov
By Corey Williams
I always want to buy Indie Games on XBLA. The major problem? So many look so bad. Groov may be one of those that I skipped over, but you know what? I think I have a purchase here. Music-based twin-stick shooters may be overrepresented now, but when one works, it’s worth a look.

Decimation X3
By Ryan Conway
Is there anything as played out as the shoot-em-up? Where does the genre go? Can a developer do anything new? Ryan points out in this review that remixes breathe new life into shoot-em-ups. It doesn’t have to be new, just better.

Infinity Blade
By Michael J. Gildea
A fantasy Punch Out!!? Developed by Chair? On the iPhone? Does this review write itself? Not on Bitmob! Yes, Michael comes to the same conclusion as many others, but his review finds an interesting way there.

Showdown: Legends of Wrestling
By Ryan Conway
A classic wrestling sim? Published by Acclaim? That’s six years old? Does this review write itself? Yes it does, but Ryan does have a lot of fun at this poor game’s expense.

Wow, I had no idea Canada closed up shop on Boxing Day. Here in Australia it's the biggest shopping day of the year - basically, our equivalent of America's Black Friday sales.
