We must be in the post-holiday lull, because there is an obvious dearth of video-game news. News Blips:

Call of Duty: Black Ops was the most pirated game of 2010 with 4.27 million copies downloaded for the PC and an additional 930,000 for Xbox 360. This info clearly illustrates that PC games continue to be the biggest target for those stinky stealers. Starcraft 2 -- which was the fifth most stolen game of the year -- was downloaded twice as much as the top console-only release, Super Mario Galaxy 2. (Note: The chart didn't track PlayStation 3 games.) Here are the top five:

Epic Games may announce a new IP at the 2011 Game Developers Conference, which begins Feburary 28. Epic's Cliff Bleszinski said in an EGM interview that gamers should keep their eyes peeled for GDC. The new concept originally began as Bleszinski's idea, but has since handed the reins to Prototype lead designer Eric Holmes, who recently joined the company. [Examiner]

A Consumer Electronics Association study finds that 37 percent of U.S. consumers plan on purchasing fitness technology like Wii Fit in 2011. The study finds that 54 percent of people cite lack of motivation as their number one reason for not keeping up with their exercise routines. Current products on the market have already seen the benefit of this desire to stay motivated, with Nintendo's Wii Fit being the most prime example. Maybe New Year's resolutions will spur fitness game sales in the same way that Christmas boosts overall game sales.
