• I'm such a big fan of Professor Layton that I'll ignore the fact that one of the protagonists commits a huge time-travel no no. Isn't meeting your past/future self face-to-face supposed to mess up the space-time continuum, or at least give someone a heart attack? [GameTrailers]
Continue after the break for an intense PlayStation Move ad, a Yakuza 4 North America debut trailer, a sweet Kirby's Epic Yarn teaser, and a look at the gorgeous Bastion.
• Sony's Imaginary Executive Kevin Butler shows us that "motion gaming" is not just for kids but also for grandpas, hot moms, and young men. If you fit one of those descriptions or want to play video games with someone who does, you should definitely check out the PlayStation Move. [Youtube]
• Sega announces the arrival of Yakuza 4 to North America with this intense montage. I'm relieved and slightly disappointed that in the trailer, no one gets their pinky finger chopped off.
• In this Kirby's Epic Yarn teaser a sorcerer turns a paper cutout version of our hero into yarn. Isn't Kirby also made of marshmallows? Oi, I don't think we're suppose to think these things through so much.
• Bastion's storybook-like animation and dreamy landscapes make this title one to look out for. Those of you who suffer from floating-island phobia, however, might want to pass. [Youtube]
I overheard someone saying the new Kirby game "looked gay" when the ad was playing at Gamestop on the TV. I thought it looked like it might be fun to play. Someday, all games will look like crap again, and it'll be down to gameplay as opposed to1080i-rendered pixels. I just lied a lot right there.
You can bet Kirby's Japanese box art will have him all happy and smiling while his American counterpart will be scowling and angry. An angry ball of yarn? Now I've seen everything!
So wait. Kirby eats a tomato, which summons a ghost, which eats HIM, which takes him to yarn world, where he becomes yarn AND more adorable than normal. I'm not quite sure I follow, but am OK with the results. ^^
I had to click through like 7 pages to find what system Bastion is for D: Giant Bomb says its for PC and consoles, which is still kinda vague. Anyways, I want to play it and/or at least want to write about it — looks pretty cool.
Also, you'll definitely want to buy Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Easily my fave Layton game yet. :)
