Today's Red Dead Redemption Friday! I just made that up right now, because I'm excited for both the weekend and this new trailer.

Video Blips:

• The level of detail in the wild-west world of Red Dead Redemption is pretty astounding. I hear that in the game you can even skin a horse.

Continue after the break for a new Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands trailer, a Mafia 2 developer diary, and gameplay footage of the amazing shoot-'em-up The Flying Hamster.

• I'm a little concerned that the buildings in this Prince of Persia game aren't really handicap accessible. Then again, they aren't really accessible to anyone who isn't a parkour master. [GameVideos]

• In Mafia 2, the player helps guide Vito Scaletta from a nobody to a made man. Can you imagine how boring these open-ended-sandbox games would be if the main guy was simply unambitious and complacent at a low-level job? [GameTrailers]

• Wow. In The Flying Hamster you play as the title character who shoots (read: spits out) sunflower seeds, eggs, bees, and beer at other adorable animals. This is probably the most amazing SHMUP I've seen since Ikaruga. [Kotaku]

That Red Dead gameplay footage looks unreal. Unfortunately, the game isn't being released for the PC. Oh well!

I find it fun just to watch the game in general. I'm not sure what it is about the game that's so alluring. Why is it unfortunate that they're not making a PC version?

I'm looking forward to skinning a horse, amongst other things, and every time I see Red Dead Redemption I wish I was playing it now.

I'm more interested in Red Dead now. I just hope Rockstar doesn't handicap the open-world gameplay with a quest system.

You know they're going to have quests -- games like this ALWAYS have quests.

@Alejandro: It's unfortunate, because I do 90% of my gaming on my computer. I'll probably dust off my 360 for this though!
