It sure has been a while! Well, thanks to the wonders of financial aid, I've been able to buy a few games this week that I've been wanting for a while now. The first is Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 for the PS2. Why would I buy a PS2 game when I have a perfectly good PS3? Well, the awesome packaging sure helps.

Leave it to Atlus to package each copy of the game with a Raiho plushie. Now, I love collectors items as much as the next guy, but its definitely not the only reason I wanted DS2. This game captures everything I love about the SMT series: an engaging story, great characters, stlye, music and demon collecting. I've only scratched the surface of this gem, but I'm loving every moment of it so far.
I also recieved Demon's Souls today and I can't tell you how excited I am to finally have this game in my possession.

Just look at that packaging! I got the deluxe edition which includes a cool slipcase and the official guide for the game. Preorders also recieved a sweet art book and soundtrack CD. A lot of game publishers could learn something from Atlus. The care they put into their game packages is unrivaled. It is painfully apparent how much Atlus cares for their fans and this is why they are my favorite publisher.
As far as the actual game is concerned, I am truly glad that I got the deluxe edition because that guide sure is coming in handy. A hand holding, friendly game this is not. I've died more times than I can remember already and I just can't stop coming back.
I highly recommend both of these games to anyone who is looking for something new!
