DLC is a staple to video games especially with digital distribution serving as a main aspect of every console. But what constitutes DLC release dates and is the cost really worth it?

Video games are filled with obscure references directly and indirectly. In Half-Life 2, I attempt to point out interesting similarities between the 19th century England and the science fiction modern depiction of a dystopian society.
Sometimes an old, obscure game is still better than the latest releases in popular franchises.

Death is a mainstay in many of the world's most beloved games. Is it because of its versatility?

Fallout: New Vegas' release was a good one, but nonetheless shaky. I look into one of the more complex games of the entirety of open-world gaming.

One of the most beloved games I've ever played currently fails to grab me like it used to.

Every once in a blue moon, I find myself filled with an insatiable appetite to play a game for the sake of winning. I question what sparks this desire and explore the affects of it.

Fallout 3 and the up-coming XCOM successfully combine '50s kitsch with apocalyptic violence.
A lot of newer racing titles have trouble making it to the finish line. Has the genre fallen out of fashion with the average gamer? Or are the just really hard to make?
How game developers feel the pressure to include the "hottest" features in their games.
How Valve will keep Portal 2 fun, but not frustrating.
How 3D gaming is far off from ready.
How scary games are slowly losing grip with their goal.

This isn't gaming related but I once had asked for a guitar when I was 11. Little did I know my Dad tried to fix it but unfortunately broke it all together on Christmas Eve. He was going to tell me about it after I was done opening everything else. Although he forgot to take the tab book that came with the guitar out from under the tree. That was the first thing I opened and thought I would for sure get that guitar in the nice box in the corner.

I don't understand why you would try to disrespect the people that made it possible for you to write on their web-site. Maybe you should think before you write.

In that last paragraph you make the gaming industry sound as if it were a giant conspiracy against African Americans. People associated with the industry aren't going to see this one person and automatically judge African Americans as loud and annoying. If you want to prove yourself as a better journalist, don't go and have a rap battle with him. That's not going to prove anything.

Reviewing, too me, is giving a rundown on how the game made the player feel. What worked, how did it work, and what was the result? etc. Sure it may hurt the developer's feelings, but I think it should be interesting for that developer to see how they affected someone. Take it in stride, and just look to the future.

I just realized I said "That would be ridiculous," in both of my comments.

I would like Mass Effect 2 and Singularity. Also that Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion looks like it's well worth the $15.

I still haven't played ME2 yet, but plan to over Christmas. THEN I won't be able to wait year. Or plan to not be able to wait a year. Because I didn't really connect with the first one. But I anticipate liking the second more. So yeah. I should stop while I'm ahead.

Also Black Ops was a nominee for almost every category (or so it seemed). It felt much more like a popularity contest. Also the "World Premiere" of Portal 2? A 30 minute part of a trailer we've already seen?

And then Neil Patrick Harris won Best Performance By Human Male (or whatever it is) for Spiderman up against John Marston. Not to mention Black Ops was nominated not once but twice for this category. Black Ops was also nominated with "Numbers Lady" for Best Performance by Human Female. If you've played the game it is literally a lady reading off numbers.

Yep it was pretty bad.

I despise Metacritic.

You can't just lump everything into one grade by the "all mighty" score. Much like my English teacher said, "Your grades do not define you as a person." The same goes for games. Agreeing with Metacritic is agreeing that the Wii is 5 years ahead graphics wise. You have to take into consideration all the ups and downs of games, so that you don't end up with a game fit for the average someone else.
