Happy Field Week everybody!

I’ve been playing WarioWare D.I.Y. almost non-stop since it came out and with my new DSi XL purchase, I don’t see that passion ending for a while.

So when Alex and Cody first mentioned the idea of Field Week and that they were looking for people to run competitions, I knew what I had to do.

So let’s cut the chatter and get right down to the rules:

  • Make a WarioWare D.I.Y. minigame that features the word “Bitmob” or “1up” somewhere in the game. You can do it as creatively or as un-creatively as you want, but we needed to assure all entries were actually being made for this competition.
  • Games can be any length.
  • If there’s one thing we all have in common, it’s that we love video games (it might be best to appeal to that common thread.)
  • When your game is finished, tape the results and upload the video to Youtube (make sure to include what happens when you win and when you lose the game.)
  • Send me the link to the video at zkoeneke@gmail.com with the subject “Field Week” or post it in the comments section below (bear in mind others can see the games posted in the comments, so email is preferred.)
  • Games must be finished and submitted to me by Wednesday May 12 at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time (that’s 8:59pm Pacific, 4:59am in London, and 1:59am Thursday in Sydney.)

Once all entries are submitted, I will compile them into a single Bitmob post. Watch all of the games and vote for your favorite in the comments section. Voting will end 24 hours after the submission period (Thursday May 13 at 11:59pm, etc.)

On Friday, I will announce the winner who'll get a fabulous prize courtesy of Bitmob! To be eligible for said prize, you must be registered on Bitmob and live in the continental North America (unless you're willing to pony up for shipping.)

I know there are a lot of hoops to jump through to enter and the Honor System is going to be employed at multiple stages of the event, but I’m sure the communities of Bitmob and 1up are mature and resourceful enough to make this event a resounding success.

Good luck to you all and I look forward to seeing your submissions!

What a great idea! I wish I had the means to contribute, but I'm looking forward to what everyone comes up with.
