Today has been really crazy -- our 2.0 update went live earlier than expected, under circumstances that will be hilarious at some point in the future, and we've rolled out a lot of new features, some of which aren't quite done. I've received a few questions from Bitmobbers about the new Profile and MyFeed pages, so here's a quick Q&A:

1) What is the purpose of the MyFeed, and why does it report on the actions of people I don't follow/aren't following me?

Demian: We designed MyFeed as a place for you to discover Bitmob content that should definitely interest you -- when the people you're following post a story or a comment, or if someone comments on one of your stories, you'll see it in the MyFeed. 

Right now we've got a bug with following, though. You should only get a follower notification when someone follows YOU. But right now you're getting a follower notification every time someone follows a person you're already following. That's no good. We hope to fix that ASAP.

2) What sort of things should I include in my profile?

Shoe: We’d like users to use their real pictures for their headshots if they don’t mind. Like with the real-name thing we do, this is to promote a more positive atmosphere of real people instead of typical Internet asshat-ery. If they’re not comfortable with using real pix, that’s fine, but we still insist on real names.

Location: City, State is good. Or City, State, Country.

Bio: Just a short blurb. Maybe around the length of my current one.

One other thing: LinkedIn may be confusing. Just look for your “public profile link” in your account and enter the URL there. We're also adding spots to list your Wii friend code and Steam ID soon.

3) Will following people allow me to tailor the posts I see?

Demian: Following people means their site activity (boosts, comments, posts) shows up in your MyFeed, so in that sense, yeah, it's a way to personalize what you see on Bitmob. You can't create a feed for just one person, unless you only follow that person and nobody else. But if you just want to see what someone in particular has been up to in terms of posts and comments, you can click on their name and view their profile page.

4) Where did the stats (hits, comments, etc.) for my posts go at?

Demian: We've still got 'em -- from your Profile page, go to the Post Manager tab. That's kind of like what the old profile pages used to look like, way back in Bitmob 1.0, if you can remember that long ago.

5) Where can I report bugs?
