Did you feel left out by last week's Mario callout? Maybe this week's activity might be more your style.
While many big titles came out in the first half of 2010, few have spurred as much chatter as Red Dead Redemption. That's why we want you to write about it.
We're not asking for conventional reviews. We want you to get creative and write an article that either examines the game from a wider perspective, or zeroes in on the elements that make it work.
Here are a few questions to get you started:
- Is Red Dead Redemption the greatest Western-themed game of all time? Why isn't the setting more popular?
- Did post-release online problems squander an opportunity for something that could have been special?
- Has Rockstar handled the Old West as well as modern America?
- Could this franchise become as relevant as Grand Theft Auto? Or will it be another Bully?
- Have the well-documented glitches ruined your experience with the game? Or have they added unintentional quality?
- What does Red Dead Redemption add to the open-world style of game? Is it missing anything?
- Has Rockstar achieved a balance between story and the open world? Why or why not?
- What are your favorite experiences in the game?
To join in, follow these simple instructions:
1. Write any article related to Red Dead Redemption. Keep it concise -- about 200-400 words should do it, but you can go longer if you choose.
2. Tag that article with the following tag "Red Dead Redemption" -- and don't forget to tag any other games you mention.
3. Submit your article to the Mobfeed by June 16, 2010.
And don't forget, you have until June 9, 2010 to submit your Mario articles.
