From movies to pixels

Wow, they look almost real

Eight-bit Mel Gibson looks slightly less racist than the original.

Mel's gun isn't black in the game. Probably not a coincidence.

YEAH! You remembered The Karate Kid. I love all the flying debris and birds in stage three.

Can you catch all the flies with your chopsticks? It's the challenge of a lifetime. WHOOOO

Birds are the natural enemies of kids who do karate.

What's the point of grabbing all the flies? Health boost?

Haha, I forget. It's been a long time since I played it. I think Ralph Maccio earns more Crane Kick and Dragon Punch attacks. It's incredibly hard to control when he uses the attacks, though. I always end up using all my crane kicks on those punks below him.

The Crane Kick, by the way, is the trademark move that he used to win in the first movie. Apparently someone had to name it, because it looked so badass.

I always call it the "Karate Kid kick." Cranes look nothing like Ralph Macchio.

Did I say "Dragon Punch"? I meant to say "Drum Punch." That's the name that the game gives it. Ralph apparently punches drums in his spare time.

I was totally buying the Dragon Punch idea. Drum punch? This game keeps getting weirder and weirder.

Are you sure it's not Rum Punch? Sounds like some heavy drinking has been going on...

My gosh. I just discovered that Atlus developed the Karate Kid game. Man, Atlus is one of my favorite developers. I don't know whether to feel good or bad, knowing that they made one of the worst games ever. Lol.

They should have given Ralph Macchio the ability to summon his own persona in the game. *Facepalm*

That's crazy. I think you should feel good about it. Atlus has certainly grown up and gotten better.

I'm disturbed.  That shot from Demolition Man looks like it's straight out of a Sierra game.

Like, put that sprite inside Space Quest 4, and we're still good.
