Game Night with Modern Warfare 2...Again?

REMINDER: This is happening tomorrow! And join the Bitmob Steam group while you're at it!

Ever wondered if a seasoned journalist like Demian Linn would resort to noob-tubing? Well, here's your chance to find out.

This Saturday, starting at 5:00 p.m. PST (that's 8:00 p.m. for us East Coasters), join me, Demian, and a host of Bitmob community members as we set off for the blood-soaked trenches of Afghanistan and Brazil in Modern Warfare 2...on the PC!

The last few iterations of Game Night were hosted on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. While there's nothing wrong with console gaming per se, I feel the need to extend some love to my gamepad-challenged brethren and invite you all to a few rounds on the personal computer. So put away your Sixaxis and get comfortable with "WASD" -- you're gonna need it.

I expect we'll be playing for approximately two to three hours, mostly in team-based modes like Ground War and Team Deathmatch, so clear up your schedule! We'll be using the voice-over IP (VOIP) provided by the game, because it would be too cumbersome to organize everyone into a single Ventrillo or Steam conversation. But nothing is set in stone -- group consensus could take us in any number of directions.

And remember...No Russian.

Seriously, we're all English speakers, and we won't understand you.

And be sure to add your online gaming ID here.

See you Saturday!

What's noob-tubing? I have a feeling it's going to happen to me.

@Demian: I had to look it up, too. Kids these days with their crazy lingo!

Noob-tubing is when you resort to spamming Grenades from your Grenade Launchers.

Interesting. I was doing that to my friend the other day in split-screen. He spends considerably more time on the internets than I do and he must not have heard of the term either, because if he had I'm sure I would have heard it many times.

I've been waiting for a PC game night but unfortunately I don't have MW2 and don't really intend on buying it anytime soon. :(

Still waiting for that TF2 game night guys!

We need some sort of get-together on the PC, it's been feeling left out lately. TF2, MW2 -- hell, I even wouldn't say no to Quake.

Added my info in the gaming ID post; hope to see the Mob show up in force on Saturday!

Guys -- TF2 for the next PC Game Night? I stink (I like the Heavy as I'm good at carrying heavy things in real life), but it sounds like fun to me!

I would love to see a TF2 game night. I could actually participate for once.

TF2? Did I hear someone say TF2?! Yes please!

I'd absolutely be in for a TF2 game night. And I feel like that'd work a little bit better than a game like MW2, which is limited in the size of the private rooms and the party support for different gametypes.

If we do TF2, I can provide a Chicago-based high-FPS private server, so no non-Bitmobbers bother us. TF2 uses dedicated servers like a real PC game -- not like another so-called PC game...

And Jason, you can be my medic. I'll protect you. :)

@Davneet Private server sounds great! But I prefer playing heavy-weapons guys because that's what I imagine I'd be using in a real warfare situation -- someone's got to lug that stuff around.

I'll log in if I remember...frankly I've been playing competitive Deathmatch on the PS3 versions...I quickly gave up on the PC version after all the hacking. So I'm getting up there in rank on the PS3 but am like level 10 on the PC. :'(
