Dubious ventures: turning real NES cartridges into art

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about NES cartridges being repurposed as art.

For $20 a piece, you could have your own retro representation of a modern game. But these aren't downscaled versions of modern titles, all you get is a new label on a still-wroking NES cartridge. That's what makes me a little leery. What games are they using? Hopefully they're all copies of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt double pack. I think about a million of those exist and Duck Hunt is virtually unplayable today thanks to the Zapper's limitations.

If you'd like to check out the entire gallery, you can find more cartridges 72 Pins website here

I wish I could make out the genre classifiction on the cartridge! It's too small!

It's... interesting. I'm not sure what I think of it either. My first thought was that might be neat to have an empty cartridge on which to place various labels or even to just have the designs as stickers for other projects. Of course, then I remembered a project where USB drives were placed inside NES cartridges. It might be neat to combine those two things.
