Do you really need to buy another game for yourself to add to the pile of games you'll never play? Do the right thing.

News Blips:

Child's Play 2009, Penny Arcade's charity that brings video games and toys to children's hospitals during the holidays, is now underway. Each hospital has a wish list of games and toys they need for the children and buying online sends the game straight there. A charity like this should be a no-brainer since playing video games (whether you're a kid or an adult) is seriously much more fun than being sick and bored in a scary hospital. [1UP]

The PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is locked out until the official launch day. Eager gamers who snagged an early copy (or you know, a pirated version) will not be able to play the game until they're supposed to thanks to the implementation of Steamworks. Just another reason to love PC gaming. [Destructoid]

EA is prepping to layoff 1,500 employees just as it announces acquistion of the popular social networking game company Playfish for $300 million. EA expects to save $100 million through downsizing and closing facilities, though the layoffs are not set to occur until March 2010. [Kotaku]

The Borderlands zombie-themed DLC is set to drop on Xbox 360 and PS3 November 24 for ten bucks. There's no word yet on a PC release. Nevertheless, the release of this expansion comes just in time to celebrate Hallow-- err, Thanksgiving? [Joystiq]
