One Hour Reviews

Let's face it. In one way or another we all have some form of A.D.D. What it A.D.D. you might ask? The abbreviation stands for attention-deficit disorder which is another way of saying you have a short attention span. For example, you probably are getting tired of reading this article already or didn't even bother skimming it as you saw its numerous amounts of paragraphs and words. Point proven.

Time after time we sift through all those reviews from your EGM's or your IGN's to get "professional" opinions as to whether or not to play, buy, or completely forget a video game. We venture through words like screen tearing or anti aliasing or even framerate to ultimately get to the only part of the review we really care about; the closing comments and the score.

For me, much of a game's appeal is greatly determined by its first couple of hours of gameplay. If you have the ability to hook me in within just the first hour then you can find me wanting to keep playing and playing. Like I said, we all have some form of A.D.D. and my attention span is minute when it comes to video games.

A game shouldn't be considered great if it starts getting good 20 or 30 hours in (FFXII?). A game should be amazing right from the start. A game should grab you instantly and make you want more. And that's where I come in. My goal is to play tons of games, record about an hour's worth of gameplay, then write about it. The end result? I just want you to see if a video game is worth your time.

What to call it? One Hour Review. I'll be posting up an OHR as much as I can of whatever I can get my hands on. I'm not saying I'm the ultimate opinion and you shouldn't base your purchasing decisions soley on me. Like many reviewers I'm just giving my opinion. Take it or leave it.
