This week, host Carlos Rodela and I face off UFC-style for a weight-loss challenge, and Area 5's Cesar Quintero joins us to discuss Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax (for Xbox Live Arcade) and the evolution of video games.

What experiences have really blown us away over the years? Hear what we have to say, and give us your thoughts in the comments below!

Ooooh, THAT'S why I kept seeing you online playing UFC Personal Trainer.

That confused the hell out of me.

What, I can't play that on my own, for fun? ;)  I wouldn't mind having the body of George St. Pierre, which I believe this game will make happen. Look out, ladies!

I'm going to laugh if you get married the moment you have the body of an Olympian. A lot of good it will do you then. :)

Yet another fun episode. It only needs a laugh track at the end when Carlos says “game over.”

Damn good episode. Anyway, the way I see video games going is either more detail in the world, or perhaps newer art styles that experiment more, such as Limbo.  Sort of like how paintings went from Classicism/Baroque realistic looks to a Modern Art styles, such as Expressionism, Cubism, and Futurism.

So while there will always be a market for realistic stuff, we can probably rely on the indie developers to expand the art styles, and the evolve games into creative ways. But I think the main wall indie developers will have to overcome is trying not to be ironic about games, and expanding game genres beyond platformers.

While there will always be a place for parody, and platformers I'd like to see more effort into trying more 'out there' concepts, and styles.

On a late side note. When Dan talked about the PS1 I was reminded of the whole Resident Evil controversy from EGM 100.

But I must admit Tetris was a good choice for number 1.
