Puzzler: Guess the video-game movies

Mindjack

Movie adaptations of video games are usually terrible, and I wouldn’t blame you for deleting them from your memory. Unluckily for you, to solve this puzzler you’ll have to visit the dark and creepy area of your brain where useless data is stored. Take a look at the following stills, and guess which films they are from. Shame on you if you get them all correct....

Well I got 3 4 5 6 9 10.

Although most of it was guess work.

Nice, although I'm kind of sad you got #4 right.

I only got 2 and 10, and 10 is probably the easiest one. I have seen four of those movies and I still plan to see Max Payne at some point.

#2 was a pretty good movie, I think. #9 could have been a lot worst, so give it a try.

#1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10 right for me... should've got #5 though, just couldn't place it :P  And I've see all but #7-10.  Yes, I actually paid to see Doom in a theatre :?

I only saw #2 and #10 in the theater, and I really wish I could unsee that last one. #1 is my favorite. The image, not the movie. ;)

LOL, I agree. :)

Damn, I couldn't recognize #2, while being able to guess others I have never seen.

Also: must... resist urge... to watch Tekken... D:

Then I better not tell you about the Anna-Kazuya-Nina orgy scene....

Image #1 = the only part about Tekken worth seeing :P

Some of the fight choreography was OK. The Jin vs. Yoshimitsu encounter was entertaining.

Yes, the fights were ok, but nothin more really... (and this is coming from someone who sat through the entirety of Dead or Alive, which at least had some good fights and of course, the women :P ).

I think we only watch these movies to see our respective favourite characters and/or fanboy moments :P

I have a positive watched-to-guessed ratio! I've only watched one (#2) which I didn't guess, but I did guess the two oldest movies.

I kind of want to watch 1, 6 and 9, just for the hell of it. But that's at least 4.5 hours that I'd rather spend playing something good =o)

I didn't hate Doom, and Max Payne was almost bearable. The Spirits Within is the best in the bunch, though.

Doom was horrible. I agree that Spirits Within is the best in this line-up, but you actually left out the only good video-game movie: Silent Hill!

You didn't like the first-person sequence in Doom?

August 11, 2011

I got 8/10... I am ashamed of myself for knowing so many. 'Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li' is the second worst movie I have ever seen (Worst is 'The Last Airbender', it was so bad it made me sick), and one of few times I nearly walked out of a theatre. The only reason I stayed, I had just paid $8.50.

I can't remember a single scene from The Legend of Chun-Li that's worth watching. I do know Chris Klein's acting was impossibly bad, even worst than Van Damme's.

Oh man, I couldn't have failed any harder than I did1

Dang, I only got four out of 10. I saw #3, but I can't quite remember that scene in the movie. Eh, it probably didn't matter too much anyways. That one was a cheesy film, like The Next Karate Kid. Minus Hilary Swank.

I shouldn't have seen #4, but that was admittedly the funniest scene in the entire movie.

And I still want to watch Doom, just to laugh at horrible costume designs. And The Rock.

All I remember from Double Dragon is Abobo. He looked worst than the SMB goombas. Oh wait, there was a nice ass-shot of Alyssa Milano for no apparent reason.

Dear God, I got 8 of them. In my defense, a couple were just guesses. 1 and 7 were the ones I missed.

If I use a time machine, travel back to 2009, and prevent myself from watching The Legend of Chun-Li...would I still remember its awfulness?

I think such a thing would force you to wake up in a cold sweat every now and then... but you wouldn't remember your dream.

The worst movie I've allowed myself to endure recently was Dragonball Evolution... after that, I realized that not all bad movies are awesome bad.

Only 5/10. I mistook the one for another pos fighting game movie. Great puzzle!

How many movies based on fighting games have you watched?

Mikeshadesbitmob0611

All of them. Both Street Fighter movies, Tekken, King of Fighters, Dead or Alive, both Mortal Kombats... may be missing one or two.
