Remixed: Road Rash and Starfox Covers

The difference between me and Matt Layzell is that when old-time video game nostalgia grabs me, I stare out the window, slack-jawed, until it passes. Layzell actually channels that nostalgia into something awesome.

Layzell's reimagined Road Rash and Starfox covers bring a new, distinctive visual style to each franchise -- now all we need are new editions of these titles that are worthy of this kind of artwork. [via TinyCartridge]

In the market for more remixed game art? German publisher Uber Books is working on Uber Games, a collection of classic video game-inspired artwork. More images from that after the jump. [via GameSetWatch]

Seeing that Star Fox cover makes me wish we could somehow go back to having physical boxes for old games that get re-released like they all to these days.

This is really awesome, I would love to see some remixes of the old mega man covers!

I agree that Star Fox looks awesome. Now we should make it into some ridiculous anime, if that hasn't been done already.
