In honor of Dragon Quest 9's DS launch this past Sunday, here's a collection of Dragon Quest commercials ranging from the first game, known as Dragon Warrior in the United States, to No. 8 for the PlayStation 2. I find most foreign game and console commercials to be fascinating. This collection alone reveals ad tactics that you'll never see in the U.S., unless someone was actively imitating a Japanese marketing campaign for that ultrahip vibe.
