Well, the holidays are finally over. I hope you all got a good haul of gifts! But I have one more present for you...community reviews!
Review: Mario Kart 7, the first Nintendo game with great online features
By Patrick O'Rourke
Patrick takes Mario Kart 7 for a spin, detailing the racer's new features and surprisingly good online modes. It's nice to see Nintendo finally start to get that stuff right. I'm daring to hope that the Wii U just may have a service to compete with Xbox Live.
Super Mario 3D Land review (3DS): Change is overrated
By Tristan Damen
More Mario! More 3DS! This time, Tristan plays through the portly plumber's newest portable adventure, Super Mario 3D Land. He finds a lot to like in this nostalgic platformer, even if the title offers little in the way of new ideas.
The fast and the infuriating
By Corey Motley
Corey's talking Need for Speed: The Run, the racer that thought the one thing the genre desperately needed was quick-time events. According to Corey, the game was wrong. Actually, he finds a lot of other faults, but Corey still discovers some decent moments buried under the grime of terrible design decisions.
I have some issues with Uncharted
By Ross Adams
If you ever want me to go on a rant filled with irrational love, then ask me how I feel about the Uncharted series. Ross, unfortunately, is not as enamored. He has some major problems with Uncharted 2 even going so far as to call it one of the worst shooters he's ever played. I vehemently disagree, but I enjoy hearing a different perspective on these heavily praised games.
You should play...Disgaea 3
By Patrick Molloy
Should I, Patrick? To be honest, I've never touched a Disgaea game before. It's not that I have anything against tactical role-playing games; I just never got around to giving the series a try. But I do love RPGs filled with depth, and Patrick says Disgaea 3 is deep enough to sink hundreds of hours into. All right, I'll give it a try...just after I beat all of those holiday releases.
