Science Majors and Video Game Journalism

Its difficult to say the least.

What, you ask?

Well, pursuing a bachelor's in a science-related field and still finding time out of your busy week to make blog posts about things that you enjoy - not that science is of no interest to me but the fact that you couldn't pay me enough to write about latent heat, integration, derivation and a myriad of topics that are common to my field of interest: Biomedical Engineering should be a topic of conversation.

Yes, I am a candidate for the Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arkansas and I also write about video games on the side.

There are benefits to both. For one, my future job prospects look bright, however, it is quite daunting to also consider the deadlines and responsibilities that my other half requires. If you did not know, I write for a number of sites including whatculture.com, leviathyn.com, and planetxbox360.com (you can find my work here). They are all great, however, balancing this life with my other is rather difficult at times.

Yes, I'm complaining, but [insert cheesy, apologetic cliche here].

I know how's that. I used to have an ongoing website back in my college years, but my studies (and personal life) got the best of me and I had to leave wrting aside for a long while.

That's one of the things I still regret nowadays, I haven't felt better since I came back to writing about the stuff I like. I like being recognized as a civil engineer and being payed as one too, but that's just my job, this is the thing that keeps me alive...

Best wishes man, don't give up.

Thanks man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this idea. Awesome encouragement! Who do you write for right now?
