Today's Community Spotlight is light and fresh with just a hint of summer lemonade.

Good or Bad: Regenerating Health Meters
By Siri Karri
Siri touches on a topic I hardly ever consider in this comparison of standard health systems to the regenerating health meters we find in most modern shooters. Is one better than the other or do both have a place in games? All I know is that I am not the biggest fan of games that don't give me direct control over how I heal.

E3 2010: The Floor
By Brian Taylor
During this year's E3, I was fortunate enough to bump into Brian as I hastily compiled notes in the crowded media lounge. Over that three-day period, I witnessed the effort and pride he puts into each of these photographs, and this collection of shots depicting the hectic show floor are no different.

Episodic DLC and You
By William Harrison
While game companies look for the next big thing to make their product profitable, William thinks a common form of distribution is the key to keeping games fresher for longer: episodic releases and bundle discounts.

Friday's Random Five: 6-25-10
By Carlos Castro Reyes
Carlos'  Random Five idea is pretty neat. Each Friday Carlos will highlight the interesting video game news, videos, and tidbits he found during the week in a round-up post here on Bitmob. If he keeps this up he might put me out of a job.

Regenerating health is just one more step in the dumbing down of games. I remember in Half Life when I sometimes found myself running around with extremely low health scared of everything and having to be extremely cautious, it was great fun and i can still remember those times.   Regenerating health would have meant I would just have to slow down or stand still for a while and then go back to running haphazardly at the enemy again, Health packs used to be a good reason to explore the game world and keep you eyes open.
