Editor's Note: I had no idea people were going after world records in annual sports games, like last year's Madden (uh...why?). Thanks to Eric Cummings for enlightening me. -Shoe

There have been quite a few world-record gaming attempts being streamed lately, and it's starting to catch on. Twin Galaxies just posted a story on this new trend. Within the article, readers can find links to gamers' channels to get info on when to watch these attempts live at a scheduled date and time.

Many of the people that watch these attempts and join in the chat are actually world-record holders themselves and are there to support their fellow record holders. These aren't just the golden oldies of gaming either. This Friday, Patrick Scott Patterson will be attempting to take back his Madden 09 world record live via Ustream.tv at his channel PSP-TV. Why not join him and see a world-record gamer light up the computer?

I know most gamers don't, but I love to watch competitive gaming. So this look like it will be in my boat

After putting up a score of 192-0 and taking back the Madden 09 (Wii) World Record, Scott Patterson popped in some Ghostbusters for everybody. He also had his wife jam out on Guitar Hero plus some other suprises like showing some wrestling matches he was in..

I checked out the stream on Friday, but by the time I got there he had already finished the record. What was his strategy? Did he have a specific team and playbook to net the most points?

He used the Cowboys and played the Cardinals. Not sure what playbook he used but there were a lot of hail mary's and returns for touchdowns involved;)
