Summer, Where Did You Go?

This summer feels like it went by faster than most. Summer's almost over and I still have a massive summer assignment to do. I should've been doing it but games like Fable 2 and Phoenix Wright just kept pulling me back in. Gamefly may be a major detriment to my academic career but its still an incredible service.

Right when I send back Phoenix Wright, Red Faction just pulls me back in. I actually didn't play nearly as many games as I thought I would partly because I've been busy with my friends and also because of Gamefly's somewhat slow shipping times.

Due to the fact that I'm still in high school, my game budget isn't quite what I wished it was so Gamefly is the best solution I could think of. However, the availability of new releases like Prototype (back when it 1st came out of course) and Arkham Asylum force me to miss a few hot topics that the community was writing about.

Other than that it is a rather inexpensive solution for my very expensive hobby. The only games I usually ever buy are multiplayer games that have plenty of replay value. I also buy an RPG here and there but normally I just gamefly those too.

Looking back, this summer has been a pretty good one for the industry. Games such as Arkham Asylum, Red Faction: Guerilla, Prototype, and Infamous came out and Bitmob was also created. I've got tons of catching up to do and that's going to be even tougher during the school year.

I'm going to finish up with one final question: what games are you most looking forward to this holiday season?

P.S I hope the community doesn't mind that I use the site sort of like my own personal games journal.

I do too. I'd rather share my thoughts here and get some constructive feedback instead of posting on some external blog and either getting met with silence or and endless stream of excrement.

Curse you, un-editable comment composer!

'and endless' = 'an endless'

My roommate had GameFly last Spring, and I was quite impressed. Only $10 a month for any game you wanted, as long as you wanted. We got Force Unleashed, Deadly Creatures, Resident Evil 5, and I think another that I can't remember. Rather than spending a couple hundred to experience these, we spent only about $40. For the budget-minded gamer who has no interest in owning the games he or she plays, I would definitely recommend GameFly. Concerning your other stuff, I've also got a ton of catching up to do, though to mention which games I haven't had the time to play yet would be embarrassing, so I won't.
