Video Blips: Video Game Awards 2009 Premiere Roundup Edition

Are you upset that you missed Spike TV's Video Game Awards 2009? No? Well, here are some of the world premiere trailers from the show anyways.

Video Blips:

• Don't the SPARTANS in the Halo: Reach trailer look bigger than usual? Maybe they've been put on a new weight-lifting program. [GameVideos]

Continue after the break for the Tron: Evolution premiere, the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, and a teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.

• Tron: Evolution has some of the nicest looking minimalist graphics out there. It goes to show that it's quite possible to make an HD game using only 3 colors -- one of which is black.

• In the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 trailer, the protagonist viciously attacks a ginormous, rancor-killing creature. In the end, who's the real monster here? [GameTrailers]

• In this teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 the Joker doesn't look very healthy. Instead of sitting around, he might be better off looting with the buff thugs out in the streets. [GameVideos]

The show was an embarrassment to the game industry, and what I came to see (the trailers) were devoid of any gameplay footage or information, really. They might as well dropped a name.

That said, I am super excited for Force Unleashed 2 and Batman!

I was pretty impressed by the Halo: Reach trailer, although not knowing what to expect.

Also, I'm disappointed at the Force Unleashed 2 trailer because it showed the rancor getting killed. What's scarier then a rancor? An even bigger one. (facepalm)
