I recently had a chat with community writer Michael Rousseau about the canceled Mega Man Universe, and what it could have been like. With so many games in the series, ranging from action/platformers, RPGs, and even sports, the title had incredible potential.

The official gameplay videos disappointed fans, so I created my own Mega Man Universe, and it is glorious!

Breath of Fire Man

It’s been eight years since Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter was released, so what better way to jump-start the franchise than by inserting Mega Man? The gameplay would be a mix of both worlds, with turn-based attacks and a few quick-time event sequences. Beating a boss will grant new abilities for your party members.

Resident Evil Scientist 2

The zombie apocalypse is upon us, and the only ones who can help us are…Reploids! Who cares about plot when you are blasting the heads of undead creatures with the Mega Buster? Hmm…that actually sounds more like Dead Rising, but this time you really are Mega Man!

Mega Man: 2nd Impact

The Blue Bomber doesn’t have to be the star for Mega Man Universe to be awesome. How about we throw some classic Capcom heroes into Wood Man's stage? Blanka and Scrooge McDuck know their way around jungles, and Elena just likes to kick shit up. In case you're wondering, the little dude with the gun is Kenny Smith from Code Name: Viper.

Phoenix Wright: Courtroom Network

Data, the robot monkey, has been murdered! A metallic banana peel was found in ProtoMan.EXE’s quarters, but it had Teisel Bonne’s fingerprints all over it. It’s up to Phoenix Wright to crack the case and bring the killer to justice. Who knew courtroom dramas could be so exciting?

Metro City X

Mega Man X and Zero join Mike Haggar, Cody, and Guy in their mission to stop Mad Gear from terrorizing Metro City. While the wrestling mayor pile-drives killer whales, the Maverick Hunters can take out the rest of the trash with their futuristic weapons. Will someone please wake Guy up?
