Week six
Next week, we're headed to another landed UFO -- this time, we fight in the Alaskan wilderness. Our strike team consists of myself, James DeRosa, Jay Henningsen, Rob Koulakjian, Dan Hsu, Nicholas Feinig, Michael Rousseau, Guillaume Favreau, Brett Bates, Juan Moreno, and Jason Honaker.
We're still researching heavy plasma and its clip, which our 30 scientists describe as progressing poorly. We also currently have 20 engineers working on personal armor for the team. As always, leave a comment by Wednesday night next Monday night with your top two research choices.
Also remember that you can sign up at any time for combat! The roster is getting a little thin.... One major mistake could be devastating to maintaining operations.
And if any of you have strategy tips or a preferred equipment load out, I'll do my best to accommodate you in the game (your options are limited to the available tech). Feel free to leave comments with your ideas and favorite weapons and battlefield gadgets.

A few side notes -- we’re playing a modified version of the collector’s edition.
I’m using both XcomUtil and UFO Extender for bug fixes (like the difficulty and blaster-bomb glitches), UI improvements (like hotkeys, stat descriptors, and auto-reequip), and minor gameplay enhancements (like the new, useful heavy laser and Terror-from-the-Deep doors).
In addition to a few tweaks which make the game more difficult, such as range-based accuracy, we’re also playing on superhuman, the most challenging difficulty setting available. Furthermore, we're playing ironman, which means no reloads or retries. Whatever happens cannot be undone, and we live with the consequences.
