After the last month’s flood of games, the release gods have found mercy on my soul and reduced this week’s releases down to ankle high flooding games. Either that or Thanksgiving is almost upon us, which apparently is like the video game release equivalent of hibernation. Given the food comas induced by Thanksgiving in general, a week or so off of video games could be a good thing.

Remember. Release dates are quite literally made at the whims of the publisher.  The following are subject to change without any warning.

Coming This Week

Karaoke Revolution: Glee 3 (Xbox 360, Wii)

Still can’t get enough of Glee? Last two Karaoke Revolution: Glee games don’t have the pop song rendition that you like? Well, maybe they included it in one of the 35 songs here. Otherwise, you’ll just have to settle singing to the bathroom mirror.

Power Rangers Samurai (Wii, DS)

Personally, I miss the days when the Power Rangers’ motif was geometric shapes. Now they’ve taken on the decidedly generic motif of samurais. I don’t know why they’ve waited so long to make another Power Rangers video game. The last one came out back in 2005, and the series didn’t exactly go into hibernation between then and now. Weird. Enjoy this brawler with all your heart Power Ranger fans. Who knows when the next one will come out.

The King of Fighters XIII (Xbox 360, PS3)

The King of Fighters XII might have pissed off a KOF fan here and there what with its anorexic fighter count and innumerable other offenses. From the looks of the various changes and additions in this iteration, this long running fighting game series might just yet redeem itself in the eyes of its fans.

WWE ‘12 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii)

Have you been hankering for fake wrestling and macho soap opera as done by half naked burly men? Well, this year’s iteration of WWE has finally come out just in time for your own real life wrestling and soap opera that is Thanksgiving dinner.

Hole in The Wall: Deluxe Edition (Xbox 360 Kinect)

Don’t tell me you don’t remember the Hole in The Wall fad? You know, the Japanese game show where a wall with a hole comes barreling at the contestant, and they have to contort themselves silly to fit through it or get pushed into a pool of water? To be fair, making it a Kinect game kinda makes a lot of sense. Damn shame the Kinect won’t actually push you into a pool of water if you fail.

Jillian Michaels Fitness Adventure (Xbox 360 Kinect)

Oh oh. The fitness genre has joined in on the whole genre blending thing and now incorporates action adventure elements into Jillian Michaels Fitness Adventure. Join Lara Cro... I mean Jillian Michaels teaches you how to run through a jungle (Hint: it involves actual running) while avoiding obstacles like spring loaded spike floors and giant spiders and collecting doodads by extending your arms as they pass you by. Who needs jungle survival training when I have this game?

Tekken Hybrid (PS3)

Tekken freaks out there who just lost their Tekken collection will be able to save a little bit of time. This compilation comes with Tekken Tag Tournament HD, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue, and even the Tekken movie Tekken Blood Vengeance 3D. Don’t say Namco doesn’t know how to make people who lost their Tekken collection happy.

Fishing Resort (Wii)

Take a wild guess as to what you do in this game. Yes, you do in fact go into the resort to fight hordes of aliens hell bent on conquering planet Earth with the help of your innate super powers to shoot lasers out of your eyes. And you thought this was a fishing game with a variet of locales like lagoons, oceans, and frozen lakes. Shows what you now, ignoramus.

Tsumiki: Block Drop Mania (DS)

I remember when I use to build towers out of VHS tapes back in my childhood summer boredom days (Yes, I’m that old). Well, my next door neighbor back then must have spied on me because Tsumiki: Block Drop Mania is all about building a tower our of falling blocks. Where are my royalty checks?

Late to the Party

Wow. I almost forgot what a dead week is like. Not that I mind. I’ve got about seven games I need get through like Zelda, and those weapon accessories in Modern Warfare 3 isn’t going to unlock themselves. I suggest you guys do all your backlog games too before next year arrives.
