And the December lull continues. You’d have to be a pretty big fan of anthropomorphic bears to be even remotely excited for the releases this week. But who knows. Maybe somewhere buried deep in the releases of this week is a sleeper game that’s been waiting for you to come along to find and give some love. Dear God, I seriously need to get laid.

Remember. Release dates are quite literally made at the whims of the publisher.  The following are subject to change without any warning.

Coming This Week

Tron Evolution (Xbox 360, PS3, DS, PSP)

(Note: PS3 version comes out on Thursday December 9, 2010)

If there’s ever been a movie that begs to have its own game franchise, Tron has got to be it. Hell, the movie is about a computer game so what can possibly go wrong? Tron Evolution is a prequel to the upcoming movie and will have you fighting, free running, and driving your way through the neon-rific game world of Tron. Where do I sign up?

Yogi Bear (Wii, DS)

So maybe generic third person adventure games are not the way to go when it comes to licensed video games. That might be why Yogi Bear here is a 2D platformer. Not that that makes this any good, but hey, they’re learning something aren’t they?

Sniper Elite (Wii)

When it comes to sniping in First Person Shooters, you either love it or hate it with a passion. Obviously, this port of a 5 year old game from the Xbox and PS2 era of a Third Person Sniping game complete with a pulse graph to show you just when is the absolute best possible moment to pull the trigger is aimed straight at the former group. Enjoy your headshots you sick sickos.

Tron Evolution: Battle Grids (Wii)

Whereas the other systems are getting the prequel to movie, the Wii version will be playing to its stereotypical strength of a multiplayer centric, mini-game collection. Set back when Tron isn’t in disarray, you are to rise through the Games Grid to become the ultimate champion. There is a single player mode, but it’s basically just you playing a bunch of mini-games and not have anyone to share your pain.

TouchMaster: Connect (DS)

And here I thought Nintendo games were safe from the whole “post my high scores to Facebook” nonsense. Nope. TouchMaster: Connect is a collection of mini-games that lets you post your scores to Facebook directly. If I see any of you post any of these scores on my Facebook home page, let’s just say I can’t de-friend you fast enough.

Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition (Wii)

What better way to celebrate Mario’s 25th anniversary than a re-release of Super Mario All-Stars that came out 17 years ago but repackaged with a selection of Mario soundtracks spanning his entire career and a booklet recapping Mario’s history, something probably all of us has already memorized by now. And also the box is red. Damn you Mario and your utter redness. Now I must have this $30 abomination.

LTTP

I still haven’t even touched Dragon Age: Origins. I guess I know what I’m doing this week. Instead of telling me what you want to buy this week, instead tell me about that game that’s been gathering dust on your pile of shame that you intend on playing this week. Don’t be shy now. Let the world know that you’ve been meaning to get around to finishing Super Mario Land.

But Yogi, the Ranger's not going to like it.

Can you maul the ranger while playing as Yogi? If so, I might be sold.
