Do you like writing about PC and video games?
-
Are you looking for that "in" to the games industry, especially on the journalism side?
-
Would you love (not like!) to attend and cover gaming press events?
-
Are you a solid writer but eager to learn and improve from experienced editors?
-
Do you have time to contribute 3-5 stories to Bitmob each week? (Some may be short pieces that fit into established templates or themes, so they won't take that long to produce.)
- Do you mind making zero money while doing this work?
If you said yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and no (in that order), then do we have an offer for you!
Once again, we're looking to expand the Bitmob staff with a couple of new volunteer interns/writers. (We've recently parted ways with one, and we're quickly realizing we need more regular manpower, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area.)
We can't promise you a paid position, because we're still in start-up, looking-for-funding mode. All we can offer you is the international fame that comes with being a part of the Bitmob staff; a chance for you to network within this field; access to cool industry events (from trade shows like E3 to individual functions with specific companies like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, EA, Activision, etc.); and hands-on experience working with established editors (you will improve your writing with our thorough editing/feedback process).
If you're interested, send an email to letters [at] bitmob.com, with the subject head:
- Help wanted: writing internship in SF (if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area)
- Help wanted: writing internship (otherwise)
Include in your email some recent writing samples, especially on Bitmob.
Over the next couple of weeks, we'll go through these and see if we can find some good fits for us. Please note: All other things being equal, we will be giving priority to existing Bitmob community writers and folks living in or near San Francisco (because we really need help covering local press events).
