Bizarre Creations developers Geb Talbot and Garreth Wilson join Dan Hsu, Demian Linn, and Brett Bates on this week's show, which kicks off Bitmob's "3 Great Prizes, 3 Ways to Win" giveaway.

The group recalls their favorite racing games, pit Bad Company 2 against Modern Warfare 2, suggest N64 games that need to be re-released, and discuss just how aware game reviewers need to be about other forms of media.

Hey Guys, just wanted to say I owned a copy of Space Station Silicon Valley back in the day for the N64. It was the 4th game I added to my N64 collection. I love puzzle based games, and the reviews for this title were off the charts so I knew I had to have it. And boy did I love it!! I thought it was so bad ass that you had to kill the robot animals before you could take their bodies over. When I was reading the previews for the game for some odd reason I thought I would be killing living animals before I took over their corpses, which I thought that was pretty morbid. But within a few minutes of starting the game I realized what was really going on. Ahh good memories!! Its great to hear you mention the title Dan, I bring it up with my fellow gamers on message board from time to time and most have never heard of it. It was nice to hear it mentioned with such fondness on the Bit Mob Pod Cast.

Yeah, I usually just download from the "direct link" method, but I just tried iTunes and it says it is still not up.  Oh well, will probably give it a listen on my way home tonight.

You were correct, Shoe. SSSV was made by DMA, which is now Rockstar North.

I take a little offense at Hsu calling out Hard Drivin' for bad graphics over Virtua Racing. C'mon, they were 5 years apart. :)

Personally, those late 80's/early 90's arcade driving games blew my mind. Hard Drivin', Stun Runner, Road Blasters, Outrun and the like into games like Virtua Racing, Daytona, Crusin' USA, etc.

Racing games as a whole are tough to go back to- graphically they suck, and it seems like every single racing game iterates on the feel in some way where newer games, even if they're not that good, feel better. That being said, Ridge Racer still feels great, and looks good enough to play.

But Burnout Paradise is the best.

I remember renting SSSV for the N64 as well back in the day. I was initially attracted by the colorful graphics and a preview of it in an old nintendo power issue. Although it had its share of glitches, it had a good sense of humor and some fun puzzles as well.

I'd like the FF13 stuff if I win.

Also, I rented and enjoyed Space Station Silicon Valley back when it came out. You are not alone, Shoe.

http://twitter.com/DustiMills/status/10458580613. I had a lot more fun in the Bad Company 2 demo than I had in what little I played of Modern Warfare 2, although I'm still stuck in Battlefield 1943 for my multiplayer gaming on account of me being poor.
