Nathan Fillion -- best known to geeks for his roles in Joss Whedon's Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and currently the star of ABC's Castle -- wants to play the treasure-hunting Nathan Drake in the film adaptation of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The recently resurrected project is being written and directed by David O. Russell, but a leading man hasn't been attached.
Fillion started his own Internet campaign for the part when he included a link to this Deadline story on his Twitter with the message, "If ever there was a Twitter campaign, let this be it. Rise, ye Browncoats. Rise, ye Castillions. RISE!"
What do you guys think? Would Fillion be a good fit for the part? I think he definitely has the charisma...and the same first name. Still, I doubt this movie will ever be made. I think it'll be doomed to languish in development hell along with the BioShock, Halo, and World of Warcraft movies [via Wetpaint]:
