How can there be a leak so serious that PlayStation phones are just floating around available for anyone who knows somebody in China? At least that leaked 3DS was stolen off the production line.

News Blips:

Sony Ericsson's PlayStation phone -- likely named the Xperia Play -- gets felt up and broken down. Engadget got their hands on a prototype PSPhone from China and have helpfully listed all of its specs and features. The phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and the screen slides back to reveal a Dual-Shock-style controller interface. Some type of Bravia technology is being used to power the screen, which makes the four-inch display very impressive. The hardware includes the top shelf Adreno 205 GPU which pushed this device to the top of several benchmarks. Unfortunately, the prototype still lacked any official Playstation Software, but the built-in controller worked well with a PlayStation One and Gameboy Advance emulator. Expect Sony to drop all of the official knowledge at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which starts February 14. I won't be covering that, though, because that is the day I meet with my N-Gage fan-club friends.

Sources claim that Bioware's major MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, won't arrive until September. Previously, it was believed the second take at a Star Wars MMO would arrive in Spring of 2011. TOR supposedly redefines the term "massive" -- with more content than all of Bioware's previous games combined and a skyrocketing budget. It is probably a good idea for EA and Bioware to delay the game until things are right...they don't want to pull a Final Fantasy XIV. [MCV]

Six Days in Fallujah developer Atomic releases Breach today for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation 3, and PC. Atomic's military first-person shooter takes a lot of cues from the leaders of the genre and throws in an excellent cover system. Breach costs 1200 Genuine Microsoft Points and $19.99 on PC and PS3, though be on the lookout for discounts.

NPR segment about female gamers embarrasses men across the country. At least, it should embarrass men. The audio piece was produced for NPR's All Things Considered news show by 17-year-old Jessica Cernadas, a girl who loves games. She explains that most of the guys who play games online are "just really rude," and female characters are sparse. "Characters like Bayonetta do kick serious butt," says Cernadas, "it's just that her freaking final move is where all her clothing comes off and transforms into a freaking dragon!" Yeah, I remember that -- it was bonerific. It is one thing for us to complain about the behavior of gamers among ourselves, but to hear those criticisms aired on a national platform adds +10 to my shame levels.
