Poor planning on my part (and possible early symptoms of Swine Flu) means that it is probably too late for me to write up any of the panels from PAX; we've all moved on to expressing our collective undying love for the Dreamcast and most of the panels are available on YouTube anyway.  So I'm afraid I don't have anything for you there.

What I do have, however, is a shitload of pictures.

Friday morning:  I have a lanyard.

Would you believe me if I told you I was looking at ANOTHER Starbucks?

First cosplayers of the show:  Pikmin.  I wondered if I could get them to follow me around and carry my swag if I'd brought a whistle.

For Shoe.  In case anyone's wondering, they played "Paperback Writer."

Borderlands is apparently so good that it has emptied TF2.

2K commissioned this Bioshock 2 chalk drawing.  It took all weekend to finish.

Bitmobbers!

This is one of two lines for Left 4 Dead 2.  If they were lucky, the people in the back would get to play in under four hours.

BITMOB EXCLUSIVE:  The Katamari Prince is playable in Tekken 6.  Actually, I have no idea what was up with the shirt, but it sure as hell isn't canonical.

The kid had a little Proton Pack with blinking lights on it.  Also, he was terrified of all the attention he got.

Her Pip-Boy was really cool.

Remember those TF2 people playing Borderlands up there?  These are totally different people.  Every once in a while they'd all meet outside and pretend to beat the shit out of each other.

They're going to get steaks everywhere.  Not long after we took this, the Prince of All Cosmos took a picture pretending to kick some dude in the balls.  We didn't get a picture of that, and I may always regret it.

The Beatles:  Rock Band main stage.  You could wait in line for ten minutes here, or go around to one of the two other stages in the back and play almost immediately.  Incidentally, these people were also playing "Paperback Writer."

Seriously...they just kept playing "Paperback Writer."

The Brink theater.  This display was made up of thousands of tiny red, green, and blue bulbs.

Can you spot the one that's different?

The famous No More Heroes 2 toilet paper.  Every once in a while I'd see people leaving the bathroom with entire rolls.  Going in after them was like playing some Bizarro version of Russian Roulette.

Jonathan Coulton performed "The Future Soon" live at the Rock Band Network panel, and then they used the RBN toolset to put the studio version into the game.

Okay, this picture needs explanation.  At the Saturday concert, Jonathan Coulton sang a version of "My Monkey" in which he changed the words to "Wil Wheaton".  Afterwards Wil Wheaton jumped up on stage and everyone hugged.  There's a video here.

I have no idea what Yoshi did to deserve this treatment.

The completed chalk drawing.

I couldn't hear what I was supposed to be doing in the Ratchet & Clank demo, so I fell off of a lot of platforms.  Eventually I gave up, preferring not to fail so often in front of so many.  Also it looks like Clank was staring at me, which is kind of creepy.

By the end of PAX, I was ready to buy stock in Sumo Lounge.

Sweet Castle Crashers costumes.

Minions!

Seven minutes until the next Brink demo...this was as close as we could get to photographing inside the theater.  But that's pretty much what your guys look like...kinda.

A cross-section of swag.  My girlfriend only wanted to buy one Mighty Mugg at Convention Prices, and had to pick between the Wampa and the Gamorrean Guard.  Pray that you never have to make this choice.

Thanks for these. And you're right, the Sumo Lounge was quite popular. So popular I never got to sit in one. A blessing in disguise. Perhaps.

You're welcome! And I think it was a blessing, because I used them fairly often and I'm pretty sure I have to order one now.

Nice pictures. Makes me bummed that I wasn't there. Well, the Swine Flu part doesn't, put the pictures do.

"Dear Sir or Madam, can you read my book? It took me years to write, won't you take a look?" If I could have gone I would have dressed as the Pyro from TF2 and loved every minute of it. The costume would have also kept me safe from any viruses, flus, and fire!!! Awesome pics!!!

@Cosmo - Mario was freaking wailing on the drums. And I saw the e-mails; I'll get back to you on that tonight. I've spent the past couple of days decompressing.

@Brett - No problem! I got about ten hours of sleep all weekend, but it was totally worth it. @Cosmo - You should go next year. It would be cool if we could try to put together a Bitmob Panel or something. I have no idea what that would entail, but we have a year to figure it out.
