Pixel Revolt is Bitmob's community podcast, in which we dive into the Mobfeed and pull out some interesting posts written by Bitmob members for discussion. For the second half of the show, we throw a question out to the community so that you can have your own voice heard. If you'd like to contribute your opinion to the show, follow the upload instructions below.

Pixel Revolt - Episode 6

The guys let Jeff take the reins this week and hope to come through it alive. Before getting into the community segment, Derek recounts his first press event, as he went to see Need For Speed: Shift in NYC. The first segment ushers in a more serious tone than usual, with discussions on homophobia and boycotts, how genre conventions can look like selling points to a fan and like crutches to a critic, and the piles of shame lurking in the Pixel Revolt closet. (Don't worry, they still manage to sprinkle in some laughs, too.) The second segment is a return to form from last episode's interview with Rich McGrath, with answers from the community about what games they play when they aren't playing video games.

Next episode's community question:

If you could attend only one game convention next year, which would you choose: E3 or PAX?

Don't worry about whether you're part of the gaming press or not. What we're asking is whether you'd like to go to a place like E3, where you get to see all kind of new games, but it's more business-oriented; or if you'd prefer a place like PAX, where you don't get as many announcements, but it's a much more social experience. Let us know!

How you can respond to the question:

Well thanks for including my article in this week's show! I did avoid shooters for a few years, but it's a genre of games I'm not immune to and given its ferocious popularity right now, I think my missing out on these series is pretty glaring. The latest Call of Duty game is being talked about like it's already "game of the year" and I feel like I'm the only one who has no idea what the big deal is. But yeah, as you guys said, sometimes you have a game just sitting around waiting to be played and it doesn't happen for reasons unknown. I bought BioShock on PS3 as soon as it was released, played it once and then didn't touch it again for six months. When I finally did get into it with earnest, it was tremendously satisfying and I wrote three articles about it (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 - spoilers!). I highly recommend it as I believe it will be shaping the games of the immediate future.
