Stop-motion animation is a dying artform. That's terribly sad to realize, but in this world of computer animation it's absolutely outdated.
Luckily, a few dedicated souls still produce wonderful stop-motion pieces like this bookshelf version of Tetris [via Dornob]:
That was the smoothest stop-motion animation I've ever seen. Really cool and impressive!
