This was the first thing I thought when they announced it. How many times has this game been for sale on Steam for pennies? If you don't own this by now, making it free is probably not going to change your mind.

I love how everyone keeps saying it's now "free to play." It's always been "free to play." It's just now "free to own."

For example, Guild Wars was a "free to play" MMO. You still had to buy the game, but it didn't have a monthly subscription fee like World of Warcraft. That's where the term "free to play" originated; it just meant "doesn't require an ongoing subscription fee."

Did you guys notice that since TF2 became F2P, they moved their "Meet the (Class)" movies to YouTube?

Also, since I also bought this game for dirt cheap on Steam, I'm hoping for a free hat. :)
