The more I see of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, the more excited I am to get my hands on it. Nintendo rarely fails to deliver when it comes to pleasing their fans, so it’s no surprise that this Zelda remake will satisfy those with a nostalgia itch. Those who pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will find the Japanese trailer below quite titillating...I know I did.
Video Blips:
• The Master Quest is an alternate version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D that mirrors the geometry of the game. I remember the GameCube version being pretty damn tough. If this is no different, then chances are you’ll get a bit frustrated, so be sure to drink plenty of chamomile tea before playing.
Continue after the break for some quirky zombie defense in Dead Block, the melding of two worlds in LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, and a look at the combat in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
• Dead Block features a bit of a zany, cutesy view of the whole zombie trend. What confuses me is the fact that nerds have embraced some of the most vile, world-threatening enemies in fantasy lore, and yet they still go nuts over the undead. These things can barely even stand; where’s the threat?
• LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean combines the happy-go-lucky style of LEGO with the adorable world of Disney piracy. Real pirates used to load their blunderbusses with rocks, nails, and shards of broken glass. I imagine LEGO/Disney pirates load them with hugs, friendship, and smarmy one-liners.
• The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings features a variety of ways to dispatch of your enemies, all while retaining the shape of your beautiful, kempt hair. I don’t exactly know what a witcher is, but they do seem to be great at graceful, flamboyant sword acrobatics. I can’t imagine that cavorting with a blade is very threatening to your enemies, though.
