Horrible games: Secret Scout in the Temple of Demise

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I'll let this box art for Secret Scout in the Temple of Demise speak for itself:

Awfulness

As you might have noticed, Secret Scout is an unlicensed game brought to you by those lovable hackers at Color Dreams. Where the Nintendo license logo should be, Color Dreams boldly declares that the game is not at all endorsed by that company.

But this game doesn't just violate Nintendo's patents. It also offers up a healthy dose of copyright infringement (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) and racism. If you're curious as to just how terrible this game really is, check out the gameplay after the jump.

Secret Scout looks like he's dancing flamenco every time he kicks. Olé!

This is supposed to be an NES game, then?

@Dan: Yeah, and a damn awful one at that. Ignoring the horrible racism and copyright infringement for a moment, you can still tell it's a really bad game on its production values and gameplay merits alone.

Definitely worthy of being mentioned here.

It's a complete package of god-awfulness. But, show me a Color Dreams game that isn't.

Mostly I want to raise awareness about this crap. Unfortunately that just raises the cart price on eBay.

I think playing and writing about bad cames is entertainment in itself. There will always be people who "get off" on collecting this crap, and they know what they're getting into when they buy it. I certainly enjoy scouring the web for some truly horrible games. I'm currently playing Fox Hunt on PS1, which is perhaps the worst game Capcom has ever made.

Then again, I'm not very quick to anger so I can stomach most games, even if they're bad. The only bad game that's ever pissed me off was Snake's Revenge on the NES. What a turd.
