How to write a game review, Mad Libs style

A review that is currently making the rounds on the Internet has been under a lot of flack for being "poorly written." Well, I actually found the review to be quite inspiring. It shows us just how easy writing a review can be!

To prove it to you, I've used the review as a guide for a handy Mad Lib. You'll be a professional games journalist in no time with the help of this baby!

You can see a couple examples of how effective this Mad Lib can be on the next page. When you start getting paid for freelance work, be sure to send me a check for my 50 percent.

I really liked Dragon Age: Origins. The game is one of the best role-playing games I've ever played. I like DA:O so much that I would recommend it to anyone with a PS3, XBox 360, or PC. I played through it multiple times I liked it so much. DA:O is just that good. BioWare has really outdone themselves.

The game stars your own character, who has to fight a lot of darkspawn with medieval weapons and magic in Ferelden, part of the continent of Thedas. The enemies are a lot of fun to battle and some are tougher than others. Fighting them never gets old

But I have a lot of favorite things in DA:O. The game's story is really good, as is the character skillset.

If you like your games to be really difficult, play DA:O on Nightmare mode. It's nothing less than sadistic and much harder than the normal campaign.

In conclusion, DA:O is a really good role-playing game that I like a lot. It is well worth your time and money.

...

Hey, I like it! :)

I move for Mad Libs style game reviews to become the industry standard.

Or you can do it like some early EGM reviews.

Just another karate game.

I can't remember what this game is about. That's about all I can say about Hydlide.

I really liked NBA 2K11. The game is one of the best basketball games I've ever played. I like NBA 2K11 so much that I would recommend it to anyone with a PS3 or XBox 360. I played through it multiple times I liked it so much. NBA 2K11 is just that good. 2K Sports has really outdone themselves.
The game stars Michael Jordan, who has to fight a lot of Los Angeles Lakers with mad hops/skills in the NBA Finals. The teams are a lot of fun to play and some are tougher than others. Playing them never gets old

But I have a lot of favorite things in NBA K11. The game's gameplay is really good, as is the Mark Jackson.

If you like your games to be really difficult, play NBA 2k11 on Hall of Fame mode. It's nothing less than sadistic and much harder than the normal campaign.
In conclusion, NBA 2K11 is a really good basketball game that I like a lot. It is well worth your time and money.

I trusted you, Mike. Then you turn around and make the notebook I gave you public! Half of it, anyway. At least you haven't found the secret, negative review page.

@Nick:  Thank you for giving me my gut-busting laugh for the day.  :D

Funny stuff, Mike!

I really liked Flower. The game is one of the best uhh....poetic adventure games I've ever played. I like Flower so much that I would recommend it to anyone with an PlayStation 3. I played through it multiple times I liked it so much. Flower is just that good. Thatgamecompany has really outdone themselves.

The game stars the wind, who has to fight a lot of ummm....let's say flowers with flower petals in flower dreams. The enemies are a lot of fun to battle and some are tougher than others. Fighting them never gets old

But I have a lot of favorite things in Flower. The game's calmness is really good, as is the lack of un-calmness.

If you like your games to be really difficult, play Flower on Casual mode. It's nothing less than sadistic and much harder than the normal campaign.

In conclusion, Flower is a really good, yeah, let's go with poetic adventure, game that I like a lot. It is well worth your time and money.

Let me use that to pre-write a reveiew about my own game so that super-lazy game reviewers (there must be one or two out there) dont even have to do anything but post it on their site.

If re-used, I will, indeed, cut you a cheque ;-)

Did someone say FixXxed???

Oh well, here's my review for MGS4: Guns of the Patriots.

I really liked Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The game is one of the best tactical espionage action games I've ever played. I like Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots so much that I would recommend it to anyone with an PlayStation 3. I played through it multiple times I liked it so much. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is just that good. Kojima Productions has really outdone themselves.

The game stars Old Snake, who has to fight a lot of Guns of the Patriots, walking tanks, and nanomachine controlled soldiers who can cry or get mad on the battlefield with so many weapons in his inventory that a man in his prime wouldn't be able to move in 5 completely different countries. The enemies are a lot of fun to battle and some are tougher than others. Fighting them never gets old.

But I have a lot of favorite things in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The game's stealth is really good, as is the photo sessions with the models after shooting them with tranquilizer darts.

If you like your games to be really difficult, play Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on Big Boss Extreme mode. It's nothing less than sadistic and much harder than the normal campaign.

In conclusion, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a really good tactical espionage action game that I like a lot. It is well worth your time and money.

"The game's trippy battle backgrounds are really good, as are the fart jokes."
