Mobcast Episode 46

The Escapis t's Russ Pitts, GameXplain.com's Andre Segers, and ex-journalist-turned-indie-dev Shanker Srinivasan join Bitmob's Aaron Thomas on this week's show.

The group remembers lost game saves, questions the importance of story over gameplay, ponders a one-console future, debates in-browser 3D gaming, and recalls their most epic gaming binges.

They also complain about getting old, mock Shanker for wasting hundreds of hours on one (broken) game, and alienate anyone who has ever played Farmville. Good times!

GLADIUS!!!!! I have said for years that this is one of the greatest games ever made (I have it for the o.g. XBOX), finally someone who shares the love! I've played through it 3 times (currently on playthrough #4) and it never gets old...

P.S. I've never been able to get the Minotaur in my "school" no matter how hard I try

UGH! A while ago my main Gamecube memory card got corrupted (don't use the pearl white ones on your Wii!) and wiped the saves for literally 30 of my games, some of which had upwards of 60 hours logged in.

Epic Saved Game Data Loss - Great topic!
I got a 2 player game of Super Mario Bros 3 on NES with every level played, start to the last battle. Right when I beat King Koopa with Luigi, the game completely froze. We never got to see the ending nor even the princess. A bitter sweet ending.

This podcast has upgraded my opinion of Shanker from rambling idiot to rambling idiot who occasionally makes good points (though I think he's wrong on the browser handling 3D being the next big thing), so that's good, right?

Shanker was all mad that I didn't attack him like I promised. I wasn't expecting him to have so many allies on the show. He must have paid them off to agree with him - it certainly couldn't be because he was making more sense than usual...
