Is it possible to play a technically superior sequel to a game that you loved...but like it less than the original?

News Blips:

The only thing real about this Resident Evil 6 teaser trailer is the poo it scared out of me. We know that Capcom isn’t about to abandon its popular zombie franchise, so when a video appeared on Kotaku with a teaser for RE6, most people accepted it as real. Capcom, however, says that isn’t the case. The alleged trailer doesn’t really show anything except a few quotes and the logo for Biohazard 6 -- which is what the series goes by in Japan. Basically, it’s something that would be easy to fake. Of course, the real sequel to the long-running series is likely in the works, but the publisher must not feel ready to reveal it just yet. Now, I need to go change my pants. [1UP]

Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski is upset with “haters” who scored Gears of War 3 lower than Gears of War 2. Review scores, am I right? Cliffy B knows what I’m saying. In fact, he’s saying it himself: “How do I phrase this properly? When people rated Gears 2 higher than Gears 3, it kind of upset me, because I know Gears 3 is a better game on every level.” Mr. Cliffy B was referring to Eurogamer’s 8 out of 10 review score, which is very favorable with only minor quibbles to reflect that few-notches-below-perfect rating. Still, that qualifies as hate. I suspect that Cliffy B and Mario Lopez will be paying a visit to Johnny Minkley -- Eurogamer’s reviewer -- to show him what happens when people hate on the Internet. That’s a reference to The CW’s H8R…which no one watches. [Destructoid]

A side-scrolling El Shaddai will blaspheme its way to Android devices. The console version of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron featured both 3D and 2D gameplay. El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron Android Version will stick strictly with the two-dimensional perspective. Famitsu printed a few screenshots, and I have to say it looks a lot like the old Super Nintendo Super Star Wars games. Just because this game is going portable, however, doesn’t mean you’re allowed to play it in church. Its creative take on scripture will probably cause your mobile device to catch fire.

Square Enix plans to port several games to iOS and Android. As part of its Square Enix Market, the publisher intends to create smartphone versions of Final Fantasy Legends, Dragon Quest Monsters, and Chrono Trigger. The mobile-games space is getting more cramped each day. Nintendo and Sony have to be feeling the heat.

And this right here is why I dislike Cliffy B. He thinks he's God's gift to gaming so if someone disagrees with his opinion, then not only must they be inherently wrong, but should never be involved in the industry period.
