Mickey has a long way to go if he wants to try and catch up with Pikachu to be the most recognizable mascot to kids. But it looks like he might be off to a good start.

News Blips:

Disney Epic Mickey, a new Disney game that looks to take the famous mouse in a new direction has been revealed. Though details are still sparse, the November issue of Game Informer has a sweet concept art cover and reports that the game will be for the Wii. Sounds like to us, Mickey Mouse is challenging Pikachu on the electric rat's home court. [GameInformer]

EA and IDW publishing have reach an agreement to produce comics based on the upcoming BioWare RPG Dragon Age: Origins and co-op bro-mance shooter Army of Two. Orson Scott Card of Ender's Game fame is on board to write the Dragon Age story. Good thing EA has some interesting original IPs these days and aren't resorting to a Madden comic (*shudder*). [BioWare Community]

Ever wonder what the world of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus might look like from the first-person perspective? So does their designer, Fumito Ueda. In an interview with G4TV from TGS 2009, the mind behind the whimsical Team Ico games noted his admiration for Half-Life 2 and expressed a desire to one day make a first-person game. We can't wait to see things from the perspective of Ico's protagonist equipped only with a 2x4. [G4TV]

Valve is setting aside $25 million to promote the upcoming Left 4 Dead 2. The original game got by on a $10 million dollar advertising budget which apparently won't cut it this time around. Expect TV spots for the zombie shooter during UFC and Monday Night Football games. Weirdly enough, no advertisements will be put up at cemeteries. Missed opportunity?  [Kotaku]

Ev. I'm with you, Mike. This is the first time I've actually been excited about GameInformer.

Not to nerd out too hard, but I just checked out the full size image and the building on the far left is definitely 'It's a Small World'. If I get to pwn singing dolls then this is automatic GOTY.

Alejandro, he’s talking about the game, not the character. Why does society still frown on the love between a man and his game??

@Andy. You're right. How silly of me to jump to conclusions.
