Steve Jobs is dead.

Steve Jobs alone

Jobs was the kinda person that everyone wants to be. Bright, charismatic, and with enough vision to change the world. His company's devices changed what it is to be human. The vibrations of his life will forever shake our timeline. Kinda makes me want to get to work.

And now, a few fleeting words about tiny events in the world of video games.

News Blips:

Microsoft partners with over 40 content providers to bring movies and television shows to Xbox Live. The good news? HBO, ABC, Comcast, SyFy, and others have all agreed to allow their content on the Xbox 360. The bad news? You'll probably have to already be subscribed through a cable company to make use of this feature. It's neat, but if my personal troubles with ESPN3 are any indication, the process to confirm eligibility will be needlessly complex and broken. Still, Game of Thrones!

Team Bondi will have to hand over its badge and gun, because it's lights out for the L.A. Noire developer. This isn't how it is supposed to happen. A talented team works for years to create a celebrated work and then shuts down just a few months later. Unfortunately, it isn't surprising either. After stories regarding poor working conditions and a shaky relationship with Rockstar, the adventure game's publisher, it was clear that the developer was surrounded by turmoil. Now, most of the team is moving over to another Australian studio as Team Bondi joins the dozens-deep list of defunct development houses. [1UP]

World of Goo will “soon” be available for Android. The indie game for civil engineers will finally make it to that other operating system after many successful months on iOS devices. The developer, 2D Boy, said on its blog that both smartphones and tablets will be dripping with goo when the physics-based bridge-building title finally does arrive. I hope they've spent all this extra time in a brilliant effort to include my favorite goo-related character, Ghostbuster 2's Yanosh.

The new Hugh Jackman movie Real Steel – about giant boxing robots – features a billboard advertisement for Xbox 720. I don't know about you, but when I need to know about the future, I look no further than the Hugh Jackman section of my personal film library. That's why I've invested so heavily in metal claws for humans and Australia – the continent, not the movie. So naturally, I've been scouring the trailers for the actor's latest film, Real Steel, to see what knowledge treasures I could loot for my own gain, and that's when I saw a logo for the Xbox 720 in the stands of the film's robo-boxing match. It appears in the video below at around 45 seconds.

Unfortunately, Bitmob has a strict policy about not taking Jackman's sci-fi movies as absolute prophecy...so I can't report this as straight news. So while this probably isn't the real logo for the next Xbox, I'm totally giving you all a very meaningful wink.
