We sent an expedition to the Pacific Pinball Expo last weekend, and since I'm terrible at pinball, I spent almost all of my time taking pictures of all the hot pins. That's some pinball lingo I picked up while on the scene, feel free to use it in your normal day-to-day.

Please find enclosed about one million pictures of dirty, sexy pins, set on free play and just giving it away. And for more pinball action, check out Brett and Aaron's video of a one-off Metallica machine.

I've always thought that a Rip Taylor pinball machine would be funny. You could even have a spot where if you hit the ball, the machine spews confetti.

Pinball Porn? Now that is crazy. I can just imagine playing on one of those machines and getting close to betting your high score, with two balls being batted around all over the place, and then splooging all over the top glass when you've hit the highest climax of points of your personal best. That is fuckin' nasty.

@J. Cosmo - Yes! The guy in the fifth picture is indeed rocking wrist braces. I saw a variety of specialty hand gear at this event! Unfortunately, most of my surreptitious pics were too dark.

I was there on Saturday! May I ask what kind of camera (and film if any) you used for those? It pretty dark there so I was wondering.

@Nick: Orbital! It hurts my brain just thinking about that one. You really have to experience it to understand it though -- pictures won't cover it. We talked with a guy who owns an Orbital machine on the way out of the expo, and he said it's an absolute bear to maintain. Still, I want one.

Oh I did play it, I attended. Totally amazing and still a mystery - haven't been able to get it off the brain. Definitely my favorite table there.

@Cristina: I used a Lumix LX3 which has a 2.0 Leica lens, so it's quite fast and good in low light conditions. I also shot in raw format and brightened/tweaked the images as necessary in Lightroom. @Nick: I did get one over-the-shoulder shot of Orbital which I didn't include, but that was a hard machine to get on so no close-up pics.
