Editor's note: What with the Bitmob Community Writing Challenge (this right here) and our own Bitmob Wants You series, we sure like to keep you guys busy. But that's good! Builds character. -Demian
Last month I asked Bitmobbers to write a 400-800 word article on why you prefer one game over another of the same genre, and I got a wealth of great responses. So forthwith, the results of the This or That Writing Challenge:

Guillaume Favreau - Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter
In his first article for the site, Guillaume tackles the ongoing feud between Virtua Fighter and Tekken. How the games approach basic mechanics and realism ends up as the deciding factor when Guillaume picks a favorite.

Suriel Vasquez - Devil May Cry vs. Ninja Gaiden
What makes a good combo -- the resulting on-screen carnage, or the skill required to execute it? Suriel examines style and substance in these iconic action games.
Brendon Morz - God of War vs. Dante’s Inferno
Respondents to the This or That challenge could pick any reason to prefer one game over another. Brendon chose breasts -- or in this case, whether God of War and Dante’s Inferno used female nudity for thematic reasons or for cheap titillation. Bitmob's editors promoted his article to the front page soon after he wrote it, so congratulations to him.

Chris Hoadley - Tatsunoko vs. Capcom vs. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger
I probably created this challenge with fighting games in mind. I could say that I don’t like a game because of who the best characters are or how it favors one play style over another, but isn't every fighting game guilty of this? I'll let you decide if I did a good job.

Alex Martin - Single-Player Fighters vs. Multiplayer Fighters
Alex takes some liberties with the challenge for his examination of combat in single-player brawlers and multiplayer fighting games. He'd like to see fighters become both more realistic and more accessible.

Shawn Wedick - Diddy Kong Racing vs. Mario Kart 64
Shawn has a regular game-comparison feature on his website, Powrdup, and he's exported his entry on Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart 64 for our pleasure. Mario Kart may be the original mascot racer, but doesn’t DKR deserve respect for incorporating different vehicles and adventure elements?

Alex R. Cronk-Young - Bully vs. Grand Theft Auto
Alex grew bored with every installment of the Grand Theft Auto franchise but finished Bully as soon as he could. Can people who don't care for Rockstar's crime series find solace at Bullworth Academy?

Andrew Hiscock - Geometry Wars 1 & 2 vs. Geometry Wars Galaxies
Bitmob’s community manager compares the Geometry Wars games on Xbox 360 with their lesser-known Wii cousin. Andrew makes the point that while the originals have tighter controls, Galaxies does have some unique ideas.

Ernie Miller - Pokemon vs. Final Fantasy
Ernie finds that although he likes the customization in both games, his pick is based on replay value. He also has a rather interesting way of comparing the two role-playing franchises.

Chris Rogel - Demon’s Souls vs. Monster Hunter Tri
Frustration can definitely affect how much we like a game. Would Chris have a different opinion of Demon’s Souls if it had a retry system similar to Monster Hunter Tri?
Thanks to everyone who participated. If I didn't post your entry, please let me know in the comments.
Michael Rousseau, the creator of the Bitmob Writing Challenge, is back this month with his fiendish challenge called Fog of War. From here on out we’ll alternate the Bitmob Writing Challenge between us every month. While Michael's challenges are rooted in the technical aspects of writing, my entries will try to encourage articles that are different from the usual Bitmob posts.
